4th Annual Golf 'FORE' Families Event to Benefit Family Promise of MidMichigan

[Flint, MI, 18 April 2024] - Family Promise of MidMichigan is excited to announce the 4th Annual Golf 'FORE' Families fundraising event, scheduled for Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Sugarbush Golf Club in Davison. This exciting event aims to raise crucial funds to support Family Promise's mission of helping families experiencing homelessness achieve sustainable independence.

Golf 'FORE' Families has become a cherished tradition in our community. It brings together golf enthusiasts, local businesses, and supporters of Family Promise for a day of fun, camaraderie, and philanthropy. With the generous support of sponsors and participants, this event has significantly impacted the lives of families in need throughout the Mid-Michigan region.

The event will feature a day of golf at Sugarbush Golf Club, known for its scenic beauty and layout, which is friendly to golfers. Golfers of all skill levels are invited to join the tournament, which includes various contests, prizes, and opportunities to win exciting giveaways.

In addition to the golf tournament, participants will have the chance to win gift baskets and other items in the silent auction and connect with fellow supporters of Family Promise during a post-golf reception and awards ceremony. Attendees will hear inspiring stories of how their contributions are making a difference in the lives of families facing homelessness and learn more about Family Promise's programs and services.

Funds raised through Golf 'FORE' Families will benefit Family Promise of MidMichigan's comprehensive programs, including emergency shelter, transitional housing, case management, and support services. These programs provide families the resources and support they need to overcome homelessness and build a better future for themselves and their children.

Family Promise of Mid Michigan hosts a Community Gathering - April 16, 2024 - St. Paul’s Episcopal Church - Addressing Family Housing Crisis Through Collaborative Efforts.

[FLINT, MI, 4 APRIL 2024]—In a concerted effort to combat the housing crisis affecting our community, Family Promise of Mid Michigan is hosting a Community Gathering on April 16th at its new Day Center within St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Along with current partners, they invite people who are curious about how to help support needy families.

Families facing housing instability right here in our midst are finding hope and assistance through the coordinated efforts of Family Promise of Mid Michigan and its network of partners. Through innovative programs and compassionate outreach, they are making significant strides in addressing this pressing issue affecting many.

Family Promise of Mid Michigan and its partners have developed comprehensive strategies to aid families experiencing housing crises as part of their commitment to serving the community. By providing more than shelter, access to resources, and case management guidance toward long-term stability, they offer a lifeline to those in need.

“We recognize the urgency of the housing crisis in our community and are dedicated to providing immediate support to families facing instability,” says Tiffani Wharry, Executive Director of Family Promise of MidMichigan. “A cost-effective alternative to traditional shelter, our holistic approach encompasses prevention, diversion, stabilization, and short-term emergency shelter. Give Me Shelter 5K

[FLINT, MI., MARCH 29, 2024] – Family Promise of Mid Michigan (FPMM) is thrilled with its upcoming milestone 10th Annual Give Me Shelter 5K event.

Scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the renowned For-Mar Nature Preserve, the 10th Annual Give Me Shelter 5K Trail Run welcomes individuals of all fitness levels and abilities to partake in the excitement. The transition to a trail run opens up new avenues for exploration and adds an element of challenge and adventure to the beloved event.

"We are excited to surpass this milestone with our Give Me Shelter 5K event," said Tiffani Wharry, Executive Director of Family Promise of Mid Michigan. It reminds us where we started, small running through the paths at Genesys Hospital. And now here we are again at the beautiful For-Mar Nature Preserve. It reflects our commitment to offering fresh and engaging experiences while continuing to support our mission of aiding families experiencing homelessness in our community." 

The event will retain its festive atmosphere and family-friendly appeal, ensuring a memorable experience for participants of all ages. As with previous years, the 10th Annual Give Me Shelter 5K Trail Run will include exciting features such as a FREE Kids "Super Hero" themed Fun Run and an award ceremony honoring top performers.
